Judge Wapner Meets Nightmare On Elm Street
I have just completed a screenplay for your review titled “Dead Dreams”, a tightly wound action/fantasy horror-thriller.
A teenager scarred by nightmares uses an ancient dream catcher and accidentally opens a doorway to the dream world, releasing a murderous entity into the waking world. The teenager learns lucid dreaming, overcomes his nightmares and now he has to confront the entity and his minions in the waking world.
The story combines elements of The Matrix, Silence of the Lambs and The Mothman Prophecies and is reminiscent of family dysfunctional love as in Rain Man.
If this sounds like something you're looking for, I'd love to send you a copy. I look forward to hearing from you. Or you may mail the enclosed SASE and reply sheet.

Wow. Now I can't get the image of Dustin Hoffman on wires doing kung fu and saying, "Definitely not the One," out of my head.
I've just closed my eyes again,
Climbed aboard the dream catcher train.
Catcher, take away the nightmares scarring me
And let me sleep well tonight.
Ooh-ooh, dream catcher,
I believe you can get me through the night.
Ooh-ooh, dream catcher,
I believe we can reach the morning light.
Don't open doorways into my dreams,
And release an entity
Through the portal to the waking world
To go on a killing spree.
Ooh-ooh, dream catcher,
I believe you can get me through the night.
Ooh-ooh, dream catcher,
I believe I'm the One. Let's kung fu fight.
Though Judge Wapner may be on real soon,
There still may be some time.
Dreaming lucidly may give me all the strength
To kick the minions' fat behinds.
Ooh-ooh, dream catcher,
I believe that in fact, there is no spoon.
Ooh-ooh, dream catcher,
I believe I can silence those lambs soon.
Dream catcher.
Dream catcher.
"A teenager scarred by nightmares uses an ancient dream catcher and accidentally opens a doorway to the dream world, releasing a murderous entity into the waking world."
Stephen Kings novel is already a movie. And a horrid one at that.
"The story combines elements of The Matrix, Silence of the Lambs and The Mothman Prophecies and is reminiscent of family dysfunctional love as in Rain Man."
My favourite. So it's like the Matrix, Silence of the lambs and Rain Man??? Greenlight, this has to work!
How does one learn lucid dreaming? I only ask because I've heard it might be an official event in the Beijing Olympics.
"The story combines elements of The Matrix, Silence of the Lambs and The Mothman Prophecies...
It does? Where? Maybe the dreaming stuff and the Matrix, but other than that, I'm pretty sure it doesn't.
I love it.
The word "minions" that is.
The rest of the query is crap however.
yhjha - I nearly kept from laughing and waking up my family.
Yawn. Unless Ashton Kutcher plays "the teenager" and "the entity" is portrayed by Dakota Fanning. Then I'll hide under the covers.
